VINYL VIRGIN

I got home from a two day homecoming to Port Fairy and had been sent the vinyl version of a remix album featuring my remix of a German band named Hundreds' song.

It's the first time i've been pressed to vinyl in solo form.

Pretty excited!

Listen to it Above & then Get it on iTunes here:

WORK IN PROGRESS

- Working on this being the first proper website for Sheahan Drive recordings...stay tuned for some kind of content re-ordering and stuff...

- Also working on recording the un-recorded songs by my teenage punk band, GRAMPS, at the moment.

song written and recorded (on iPhone 4track?), in my living room being depressed by the winter, about the winter and making it all real by recording a song about it. first successful one-take made up rant - song i've ever really done, i think.

SHEAHAN DRIVE explained

SHEAHAN DRIVE recordings is the name under which Gus Franklin currently runs his studio recording and musical practices out of a shared studio space in East Brunswick. Eventually, the Sheahan Drive name may comprise some kind of label under which Franklin and other like-minds may release dark-hearted Australiana pop and folk music that represents the Sheahan Drive moniker. The name comes from a sign that can be found in Gundagai in Southern NSW. The artist who designed the sign, or the signs' maker is not credited at the sight, but i believe it to be a brilliant representation of the dark-hearted isolation of Australia and it's heritage. Right Now...this virb.com site is a space where my folio for applying to the Department of Safety's Artist in Residence program, can reside in peace. (see blog for details)

Will (of the Great Apes), continues to record his erthereal-ring-modulated guitar part for Vicuna Coats' song, 'Execute,' so amazing was this sound that the whole earth did shake itself a little to the right...
